Professional Services are occupations in the service sector requiring special training in the arts or sciences. Some professional services require holding professional degrees and licenses and they also require specific skills such as architects, accountants, engineers, doctors, lawyers and teachers.Â
Here at South Dade our Professional Services Magnet is comprised of the following Strands of study:
- Agri technology and Horticulture
- Automotive
- Building and Construction
- Child Care
- Culinary Arts
Each strand offers a pathway into certification and hands on training to help students in their post-secondary goals. All classes and certifications are aligned to FLDOE Frameworks and supervised by the MDCPS Career Technical Education (CTE) Office.
M-DCPS Career Technical Education (CTE) is impacting the lives of Miami-Dade County students preparing them to be college and career ready through programs of study and career pathways aligned to Career Clusters. CTE students graduate with world-class academic and technological skills, plus industry-recognized certifications necessary to transition to higher education and careers.
CTE students may also earn free college credits through dual enrollment, college and technical center articulation agreements or achievement of a state-articulated industry certification.
