Nursing Assisting

Nursing Assisting provides students with clinical and administrative skills necessary to enter a hospital or nursing home as a Florida Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA).  Students will have the ability to complete the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification, and National EKG Certification.  When a student completes the CNA, CPR and EKG Certifications they are considered to be a Patient Care Technician (PCT).

Program of Study Course Sequence for Nursing Assisting Program

  • 9th grade: Heath Science Anatomy & Physiology
  • 10th grade: Health Science Foundations 
  • 11th grade: Nursing Assisting 3 (1.0 credit), and Health Occupations Education (1.0 credit) Honors
  • 12th grade: Electrocardiograph Aide 3 (.50 credit), and Home Health Aide 3 (.50 credit)
