The Sports and Health Science Academy is designed to provide students with a challenging curriculum consisting of both academic and vocational specific courses that will help develop the skills necessary to pursue a college degree and/or career opportunity in Sports and Health Science. Our students will be able to take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it in the community through various job internships and job settings.

 

Sports and Health Science offers five Academy strands. The five strands are: Childhood Education, Nursing Assisting, Medical Assisting, Sports Administration, and Sports Medicine. Strands are like majors that exist within the Academy. Students will choose a strand based on their career interests. For example, a student interested in becoming an athletic trainer would choose the Sports Medicine strand in the Academy of Sports and Health Science.

Students must complete a minimum four year sequence in their selected strand to be considered for an Academy Diploma. Students are not allowed to change their Academy/Strand once they have selected their first Academy class.
